Working for IT in CDP

Our small, dedicated IT team is responsible for the development and support of our core reporting platform including our Online Reporting System, our data analysis system and our general office systems. We aim to deliver an efficient, innovative and comprehensive service to our colleagues, members, disclosing companies and the wider community.

Our technology platform is the heart of our operation, and is going through a period of major change.  We are insourcing our Microsoft Dynamics CRM and rebuilding our website in Ruby on Rails.  Over the next two years we will extend the website to better engage with investors, disclosing companies and the wider community, and replace our core data collection systems, while keeping our live operation working well and implementing the tactical changes that any organisation needs.

We are currently recruiting for three roles:

  • Contract Project Manager / Business Analyst
  • Systems Architect (CRM)
  • Server Administrator

We offer the chance to do meaningful work helping CDP in its mission to prevent dangerous climate change, as well as be part of an empowered, entrepreneurial organisation.  We're a family-friendly team, and welcome applications from all qualified candidates.

There's also a competitive NGO salary, annual bonus, 24 days holiday, non-contributory pension provision after 3 months employment.  The roles are located at our offices in Tower Bridge, although some home working may be supported.   We are unable to offer support for visa applications, so you must be legally able to work in the UK.

Contract Project Manager / Business Analyst

We are embarking on a project to undertake a radical transformation of the systems and processes used to collect this information, and have a shortlist of preferred suppliers.  We are now seeking an experienced project manager / business analyst to work with us to help us come to the final decision and set up plans and budgets for the implementation project.

You will report to the IT Director, and liaise with colleagues throughout CDP.  You will be responsible for managing this phase of the project, and for setting up plans and budgets for the remaining phases.
CDP is a highly agile and flexible organisation that achieves a considerable amount with a very lean administration so you must be self-motivated, task and results orientated.

This is a contract role, initially for three months, based in our offices near Tower Bridge in London.   We offer a day rate of £500-£600.    Depending on funding and your performance, you may be invited to continue working with us through the implementation.

  • Quickly understand our current processes and systems, and the options we have
  • Review and verify the requirements for our solution
  • Facilitate and contribute to a due diligence exercise with short listed vendors (technical, functional and commercial)
  • Scope and size systems integration work, with the support of technical staff in CDP and the chosen vendor.
  • Scope and size other work required to ensure a successful implementation
  • Establish plans and budgets for the implementation, ensuring that all areas are covered and that plans are realistic and achievable.
Required skills and experience
  • Significant experience of business process change and systems integration projects
  • Good knowledge of formal project management techniques, and the ability to apply them pragmatically in an organisation for which they will be new.
  • Excellent analysis skills, with the ability to quickly get to the bottom of an issue and present it clearly and succinctly to busy senior managers
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, in English.
  • Excellent facilitation and influencing skills

Useful skills and experience

  • Experience with data collection systems gained in a regulatory, corporate reporting or similar environment
