CDP Supply Chain Account Manager - CDP London

Contract: Fixed Term Contract (maternity cover)

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Recruitment of members for CDP’s supply chain program and general business development for the program in the UK.
  • Managing relationships with existing members and supporting them to meet relevant goals and ambitions.
  • Establishing, maintaining and leveraging relationships with relevant sustainability and procurement managers as well as trade associations, industry working groups and other organizations working in the sustainable supply chain and procurement field
  • Supporting member companies in executing and expanding supplier disclosure and incorporating analysis tools and CDP scores into their procurement decisions
  • Presenting at conferences and other events to  raise awareness and develop new leads for future members of the program
  • Creatively developing and refining presentations, brochures and marketing material as well as the inherent program offering together with the Supply Chain team.
  • Other work supporting the program’s operations and international presence, as required.

The successful candidate will have:

Required

  • Proven track record in business development or sales with persistence, endurance and creativity in developing a new business stream
  • Good business communications experience and a very strong command of business language
  • Proven strong networking, negotiation and communication skills. Ideally with existing contacts in networks across businesses in the UK, including relevant contacts within trade associations and industry working groups
  • Proven skills in public speaking and collaboration with corporations in industry working groups
  • An entrepreneurial and enthusiastic spirit with the ability to self manage, also having experience of working with and convincing  senior contacts
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing work priorities.
  • A clear understanding of the aims, objectives and processes of CDP and CDP’s supply chain program and a strong conviction about CDPs impact 
  • IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CRM tools)
  • Fluency in English

Desirable

  • Desire and existing knowledge in understanding climate change and water related issues from a business and procurement perspective
  • Proven data analysis skills with love for details plus good research/ argumentation skills
  • Competency in another language relevant to the European region would be a plus.

The successful candidate will work 5 days per week and must be able to work legally in the UK. The role is located at our offices in London. The Project Officer will be based in CDP’s London office and will report to the Director, Supply Chain.   • Reporting and co-ordinating progress to the project manager in the CDP Forests team;

  • Extensive IT testing, database management and data checking;

Internship opportunity, CDP Project Support position – CDP London

CDP is seeking an enthusiastic intern to support our dedicated team working withe FSB Task Force for Climate-related Financial Disclosures. The internship will be at our London office and you will have the opportunity to be involved in a range of activities including research, communications, team admin, report writing and ancillary support.

This opportunity will allow you to gain experience and skills across a number of key areas and will be valuable and unique experience for anyone seeking a career in the areas of ESG reporting and disclosure, research, communications, climate change and sustainable business. The internship will run for the duration of the TCFD’s remit to the end of 2016 as the Task Force  develops the Phase II report due to be presented to the FSB in December 2016.

The work will vary from researching existing models of disclosure and reporting, developing and preparing briefings, updating the website entries and social media activities, administrative duties and supporting CDP’s Task Force Engagement Director and the Working Group. A positive attitude and a commitment to working for the environment, self-motivation, intellectual curiosity and the ability to grasp new and complex topics will be key to your success.

Internship arrangements

Duration
CDP is looking to recruit an intern for a minimum of 4 days per week for at least 3 months. The maximum duration for internships is 6 months. In instances where interns are not working full time, they should ideally commit to set days each week. Please note: this role is an unpaid internship. Lunch and travel expenses within London (zones 1-6) will be reimbursed.

Emissions Data Analyst – CDP London

CDP is seeking a highly motivated individual with experience and interest in energy, data analysis, corporate climate change accounting and modeling to join CDP’s Data Team. The position holder will support in the cleaning and modeling of corporate GHG emissions and other related data points, working to enhance CDP’s ‘clean & complete climate change dataset’ offering for investors, policy-makers and other stakeholders to make more informed decisions. Responsibilities
  • Work with the technical manager and other data analysts to implement procedures for ensuring CDP data integrity and monitoring for constant improvement;
  • Undertake the systematic identification and correction of energy-related data quality issues and apply data standardization techniques to harmonize key data point responses;
  • Develop and implement methods for consuming external data and integrating them into CDP’s database, maintaining transparency through these  processes;
  • Maintain and improve upon algorithms and source models to estimate corporate GHG emissions and expand upon these to incorporate other relevant data;
  • Extract, transform and load data from and into CDP’s data warehouse;
  • Facilitate the internal and external accessibility, usability and analysis of CDP’s data;
  • Determine optimal data delivery methods and formats and support in the operationalization of identified requirements;

  • Knowledge of programming languages is an advantage;
  • Familiarity with modeling approaches through the lens of GHG national inventories, econometric regression models, input-output models, LCA, corporate inventories and/or other modeling approaches is an advantage;
  • Familiarity with corporate GHG inventories with some previous experience in doing them is an advantage.

The successful candidate will report to the Technical Manager (Data) and will work closely with several other internal teams in CDP as well as external stakeholders. The role is for 5 days per week, based at CDP’s office in London. The position is for a fixed-term of one year with the potential to extend thereafter.

Development Manager - CDP North America

CDP North America, the second largest office in CDP's global organization, has grown dramatically over the past three years and is now seeking an entrepreneurial Development Manager to help advance the diversification of its revenue base. Reporting to the President, the Manager will participate in a broad range of development activities. Externally, the Manager will assist in building and managing relationships with foundations and high net worth individuals and support CDP North America events. Internally, the Manager will collaborate with staff across the organization to prepare proposals, reports, and presentations, and will also establish effective processes within the development department.

Responsibilities include:

  • At least 4 years of experience in fundraising for nonprofits;

Student Internship - CDP Southern Europe (based in Berlin)

CDP Europe, the world’s leading climate change charity, offers an internship on a voluntary basis for a period of 3 months to support our Southern Europe activities.

About the role: we are looking for a highly motivated individual, fluent in Spanish and English, with a strong background on sustainability and/or climate change; excellent communication skills and proven experience in organizing high-level events. This role is suitable for someone with knowledge or interest in climate change and business, and it will provide an opportunity to learn about corporate climate change reporting and to experience working in an innovative business-focused NGO.

About CDP: CDP works to transform the way the world does business to prevent dangerous climate change, safeguard water resources and prevent deforestation. Project Officer, Investor initiatives team - CDP London

CDP represents 827 institutional investors with assets of $100 trillion and ensures that the financial community has access to the best available corporate information on climate change and water to help drive investment towards a sustainable economy. The Investor team is responsible for managing relationships with CDP’s investor signatories and members and is seeking a new team member to assist with all aspects of our work. The successful candidate will be based in our London office.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the business impacts of climate change and water, and hands-on experience in a dynamic team.

The project officer will be responsible for a variety of work including:

  • Supporting the investor initiatives team with account management and improving investor signatory relationships
  • Maintaining and supporting the investor initiatives Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform
  • Researching, writing and editing activities related to communications with investors, including contributions to website, newsletter, reports and other CDP publications

Research analyst, Investor Research - CDP London

CDP is seeking a highly motivated research analyst to join its investor research team. The successful candidate will ideally have 2-3 years’ experience in an analytical role and a business or financial background/qualification with a passion for climate issues.

CDP runs an annual disclosure process on behalf of 822 institutional investors with combined assets in excess of $95 trillion. Disclosing companies provide  quantitative and qualitative information about their greenhouse gas emissions, energy efficiency programs, water management, exposure to deforestation and strategic business approach to environmental risk.

The investor research team has initiated a quarterly research series identifying climate (carbon and water) metrics in a number of high-emitting sectors, which in aggregate could have a material impact on company earnings. The research aims to improve investor understanding and knowledge of CDP data and inform investor engagement with companies on climate-related issues.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Exceptional analytical skills;
  • High attention to detail;
  • Work with large data sets in a clean, methodical manner, minimising risk of error;
  • Ability to assess credibility/usefulness of different data sources;
  • Exceptional written skills;
  • Ability to communicate complex analysis and arguments in a concise, easy to follow manner;
  • Ability to draw key messages/sales hook out of complex research;
  • Excellent verbal communication; and
  • Ability to communicate research findings to both internal and external parties, including investors.
