The Brazilian Association of Pension Funds (ABRAPP) is a privately-owned, not-for-profit organisation which brings together Brazilian pension funds through their common interests. It works closely with all applicable government agencies and regulatory authorities, plus other private sector groups, to defend the interests of the funds and aid in the growth, strengthening and improvement of the pension fund industry, its system, structure and regulations, in addition to organizing, promoting and conducting studies, analyses, research, courses and congresses. Of all the pension funds currently operating in Brazil, about 90% are affiliated with ABRAPP, representing 1.7 million active participants and 96% of the sector's assets.
